Metagenics' Norwegian manufacturing partner uses fresh, clean, deep water fish that are known to be high in important omega-3s.

2. The Manufacturing Process
Our ultra-refined omega-3 oils undergo a proprietary refinement process that includes:

• De-acidification to remove phospholipids, color bodies, and other soluble and insoluble impurities form fish oil.
• Bleaching (not with actual bleach, but clay and/or active carbon and heat) to reduce pigments, heavy metals, oxidative products, and other environmental pollutants.
• Deodorization to remove volatile materials that affect flavor, taste, and stability of the oil. This process also dramatically removes PCBs and dioxins.
• Molecular distillation concentrates and purifies the oil.
• Winterization cools the oil and then filters particles that form at cold temperatures.
