Healthy Lives Demand Healthy Lifestyles
Therapeutic lifestyle change (TLC) programs are based on the premise that many of the chronic conditions associated with aging—e.g., hypertension, cardiovascular disease (CVD), diabetes, and osteoarthritis—are not inevitable consequences of the aging process. Instead, these conditions are largely preventable simply by making sound lifestyle choices. Symptoms that many view as signs of aging—such as low energy, poor memory, low libido, chronic pain, and weight gain—are not signs of aging, but rather signs of illness. If you are ready to help turn your patients’ unhealthy lifestyles around, then consider implementing a clinically tested TLC system, and watch the dramatic transformation in both your patients and your practice!
In support of lifestyle-modification intervention, TLC is recommended as a first line treatment for a variety of common health problems by many national health organizations, guidelines, and scientific statements, including:
- National Institutes of Health
- National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP, ATP III Guidelines)
- National High Blood Pressure Education Program (NHBPEP, JNC 7 Guidelines)
- American Diabetes Association
- American Heart Association
- North American Menopause Society
- American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists
- And many others
In addition, a growing body of scientific evidence indicates that TLC should be the fundamental therapy for a wide range of chronic conditions, such as:
- Elevated Cholesterol
